"Love me, love me...Say that you love me.." - Lovefool

I'm gonna cut the story short. Ladies and Gentlemen, Guys & Gurls...introducing,

Amber and Me

Hairul - Bass, Dinky- Drums, Zijian - Guitar, Fiza - Vox

Amber and Me, that's our new band's name. All three guys were my juniors in secondary school (one yr onli) but i've heard them play and thought them good, which was why i agreed to do vocals when they asked. Friday had been my first time meeting and talking to Dinky & Zijian. -- No, i wasn't a stuck-up senior back in school...Or was i? Oh, who gives. -- And i knew Hairul from Choir.

I'm not gonna go too much into details. Just that, for the band's first jamming session, it's satisfying. Impressive, in fact. Like seriously. We actually played two songs, Lovefool & My Favourite Game by The Cardigans, repeatedly with minimal mistakes like as if we've been practising that song for weeks! And when i shot them a "Do u guys know how to play Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns 'N Roses?", they could! Need a lot of brushin'-up but er wait...I'm not gonna praise them too much lah coz i think they read my blog and their heads are gonna BLOW-UP.
We ain't perfect yet, but im amazed. Amazed by a number of things, WHICH im gonna keep to myself. Keep up the good work but we're gonna work harder, right guys? I hear ya!

I like it that when we were discussing different songs and bands, they KNEW what song or band (most of it, at least) i was talkin' about...like "Celebrity Skin" by Hole. Don't they make you watch MTV in primary school? And they might've not known Zwan but at least they knew Smashing Pumpkins and that Billy Corgan's bald. Haha. Anyway, we shall see how it goes. Gonna keep a low profile for now...

Phua Chu Kang - The Musical
Got free tix to the musical at the Indoor Stadium on Saturday. Had plans initially, but hey...the tix aren't cheap, and seeing that others had to pay $100/$85 to watch it at considerably good seats, i decided to go. There were four of us. Still got 4 more free tixs for another day's show.

So, how was the musical? Let's just say i wouldn't pay $100/$85 to catch it. I'm glad i didn't even think of it. In fact, i think you would've enjoyed more the musical we had when i was in primary school! $65 at Mandarin Ballroom WITH dinner. And cute kids (uhurm, uhurm) performing and dancing and singing on stage.

Overall, the musical was okay lah. Very singapore. Very patriotic. but i think it's not very kid-friendly. Examples..."Audrey Chee, the K.S. Kampung SLUT!" - Ah Ma's line. teehee. Moderately funny lah can.

ok i want to sleep. Do go to Rock On Singapore! this coming Friday & Saturday. There's gonna be bands like BhumiBand, Electrico, Ugly in the Morning, Ronin, B-Quartet and many more..

later.
