Anna Wintour. Love her or hate her?

She decided to finish her education at the age of 18 (my age!). In May 1997, she had revealed that her career had got off to a "shaky start" following that decision. But look where she is now. She's a woman of power in the fashion world. Just search for "Anna Wintour" in Yahoo! and you'll get so many articles on her. You'll also find that these articles speak of how powerful she is, while others hate the Cold-Hard Bitch that she is.

So who is Anna Wintour, you ask?

Anna Wintour was born on November 3, 1949 (6 days, 38 years earlier than my birthday!) in London, England. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue magazine, a position she has held since 1988. A Vogue staff had once said (i think his name is William Norwich), ''At Vogue we worship one god. Her name is Anna Wintour." whoa. Some people love her because she has the power to turn a nobody into a SOMEBODY. "She's a fashion goddess!", you'll hear them say.

The book Devil Wears Prada was written about her except author, Lauren Weisenberg didn't actually use her name and the magazine Vogue. In the book, she's portrayed in a character named Miranda Priestly -- the all-powerful editor of Runway magazine-- , and her poor assistant, Andrea Sachs. Andrea's goal is to score a job with "The New Yorker" (that's a newspaper) and Miranda promises her a job, anywhere she wants if she can last a year at Runway. Little did she know that Miranda is the-boss-from-HELL.

My first time reading the book, I hated Miranda to boot - despite being impressed by the amount of power she holds- and felt that Andrea was an idiot but i couldn't really relate to it.

After a stint last year though, i now know what it's like to work for a motherfreaking BITCH. or in my case, BITCHES. The kind where the only thing that keeps you going is an image of you giving her a Flying Kick, pulling off her hair and leaving her with bald patches, and swallowing her whole!
